The new CINE-SERVO 17-120mm builds upon the legacy of the company’s CINE-SERVO line, with the added benefits of ZEISS eXtended Data for PL mount. It carries on the previous model's outstanding optical performance and mobility, while the ZEISS eXtended Data communication support distortion and shading data output for virtual production. The lens is equipped with the e-Xs V servo drive unit, with improving focus and iris speeds, allowing camera operators to shoot just as intended even when capturing rapidly moving subjects such as during sports broadcasts. It also features Focus Breathing Compensation which is linked with the zoom function to automatically make precise corrections. Additionally, the highly versatile USB Type-C terminal makes it possible to export and import lens setting data from a USB memory drive, thereby allowing users to update firmware on their own. The Drive Unit can also be detached to be used in cinema style.

Versatile 17-120mm with outstanding optical performance
Matches the specification of the popular and award-winning CINE-SERVO 17-120mm. This lens is designed with a consistently warm color balance that reproduces skin tones and is compatible with HDR. Also, the 11-blade iris gives natural bokeh that is nearly circular from fully open to minimum aperture. The odd number of iris blades produce a soft and diffused light beam when shooting bright subjects.
Supports 8K/4K cameras
Canon’s optical technologies use large-diameter aspherical lenses and anomalous dispersion glass delivering optical performance that supports 8K cameras throughout the zoom range. Aberrations are controlled as much as possible for outstanding performance from the center of the image to the edges.
Next-Generation eX-s V Servo Drive Unit
Canon’s next-generation servo drive unit has the same operability and usability ENG lenses with faster focus and iris speed, Focus Breathing Compensation, and an USB-C connector. The eX-s V Drive Unit can also be detached to be used in manual-style cinema configuration.

The high-resolution, 16-bit absolute value encoder enables high-precision location detection, making calibration easier when creating virtual content. The 20-pin connector can be switched to a virtual terminal to output zoom, focus, and iris position information.
Supports AF functions
This lens supports Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with expanded distance measuring area to significantly reduce focus problems in 4K shooting. This function can be used when combined with compatible cameras such as C400.
Supports virtual production with distortion and shading data with ZEISS eXtended Data
This PL mount lens supports ZEISS eXtended Data which provides distortion and shading data for virtual production with compatible cameras. In addition to RF mount communication, 12-pin serial communication for standard broadcast camera system is available.
Supports ARIA*(Automatic Restoration of Illumination Attenuation) with compatible cameras
ARIA (Automatic Restoration of Illumination Attenuation) adjusts illumination so that light is more evenly distributed between the wide and the telphoto ends of the lens. First, the Camera-lens communication at initialization identifies the lens attached. When zooming, the camera's gain is increased starting at the F-drop/ramping point. Simultaneously, Peripheral Illumination Correction corrects light fall-off from the center of the frame to the periphery. This correction more evenly distributes light throughout the entire image.
